MFT August Release – New Product Launch

Hey there! Thanks for joining me for the My Favorite Things August Release New Product Launch!

New Product Launch

Today, I am sharing two cards with you – one featuring the Fringe Die-Namics and one showcasing the Wonky Chevron Stencil – both of them are really versatile products to play with! As you might know by now, I like to take a product and see how far I can stretch it 😉 – here’s the card that features the Fringe Die-Namics:

I began by creating some ombré inky panels and then die-cut the Fringe Die-Namics several times out of them. But then, I die-cut those pieces again with the Double Stitched Oval STAX Die-Namics, to give me these half-oval fringe-y shapes 😉

I then clustered all the pieces together to form a sort of flower, overlapping one piece on top of another.

I added a large gemstone in the middle, followed by a die-cut ring to complete the flower. The sentiment comes from the Encouraging Words set and was stamped with black dye ink below the flower. A few sequins were dotted around for a bit of sparkle!

Here’s the card that features the Wonky Chevron Stencil:

I love creating bold, dynamic backgrounds and stencils are a great way of achieving some awesome effects. I laid the stencil down onto a piece of white cardstock and simply swiped some tinted embossing paste through. I used the vibrant MFT dye ink refills to tint the paste – one little droplet of this stuff goes a very long way!

I removed the stencil and quickly sprinkled the panel with some iridescent embossing powder while the paste was still wet, and then set aside. After about an hour, I heat set the powder and trimmed the panel down to slightly smaller than my card base.

At this point, I felt like something was missing, so I blended some Persimmon and Festive Berries Distress Inks onto the panel, filling in all the white areas of the cardstock. I spritzed with a Perfect Pearls solution and flicked on some Antiqued Bronze Distress Stain before letting it air dry.

Again, the sentiment comes from Encouraging Words and was heat embossed in white onto some black cardstock. I wrapped black twine around the inky panel, adhered it straight down to a card base and foam mounted the sentiment piece on top. A few clear sequins finish up the design!

Thanks for joining me this week while we showcased the August Release products! Be sure to check out the amazing projects from the rest of the MFT Design Team members for more inspiration on the My Favorite Things blog 😉
