MFT December Release – New Product Launch

Hey there! Thanks for joining me for the My Favorite Things December Release New Product Launch!

New Product Launch

Today, I am sharing a card using the Stitched Alphabet Die-Namics and the Circle Burst Stencil. Here’s my card:

©Candles in the Garden. MFT December Release New Product Launch. Stitched Alphabet DieNamics and Circle Burst Stencil.

I wanted to create a vibrant background for the die-cut letters to stand out on, so I used the Circle Burst stencil and some Dylusions Ink sprays to do this.

©Candles in the Garden. MFT December Release New Product Launch. Stitched Alphabet DieNamics and Circle Burst Stencil.

Instead of spritzing through the stencil with the sprays (which would also give you an amazing look), I applied the ink straight onto an acrylic block and then stamped through the stencil onto a damp piece of watercolour cardstock.

This is such a fun technique and yields different results every time! I heat set the panel and then trimmed it down to the same size as my card base using the largest frame die from Blueprints 25 Die-namics.

I then adhered it straight down to the card base and moved onto the letters. These were die-cut three times for each letter, adhered together to create thicker letters and then mounted to the card front. To finish, I added some silver sequins!

Thanks for joining me this week while we showcased the December Release products! Be sure to check out the amazing projects from the rest of the MFT Design Team members for more inspiration on the My Favorite Things blog 😉

I trimmed the panel down to the same size as my card base, and then adhered it straight down. I then stamped a sentiment from the Amazing stamp set with black dye ink.

NewReleaseCountdown_Day2

For Countdown Day 2, we’re showcasing the Sweet Safari stamp set and Die-namics; the Primitive Chevron Background; the Etched Tribal Background; the Leafy Green Die-namics and the Scenic Safari Die-namics. Here’s my card:

©Candles in the Garden. MFT December Release Countdown Day 2. Leafy Greenery DieNamics and Mini Modern Blooms.

I began by drawing a circle on a panel of white cardstock and using it as a guide to die-cut some branches using the Leafy Greenery Die-namics set.

©Candles in the Garden. MFT December Release Countdown Day 2. Leafy Greenery DieNamics and Mini Modern Blooms.

I then stamped some of the images from the Mini Modern Blooms set, again using the circle as a guideline to complete the wreath effect I was going for. I also stamped a sentiment from Hand Lettered Holiday with black dye ink in the centre.

I filled in some areas of the wreath with some of the smaller stamps from the set, so that they looked like berries.

To complete the card, I added a few clear sequins.

MFT December Release – Countdown Day 5

Hey everyone!

Thanks for joining me at the start of December release week for My Favorite Things!

NewReleaseCountdown_Day5

For Countdown Day 5, we’re showcasing Birdie Brown’s Adorable Elephants Stamp Set and Die-Namics, and the Stitched Mini Scallop Circle, Rectangle, Square and Oval STAX Die-namics! Here’s my card:

©Candles in the Garden. MFT December Release Countdown Day 5. Stitched Mini Scallop Square STAX Die-namics.

You must know by now how much I love to stretch the use of my dies, and this card is no exception. I also like playing with inlaid die-cutting and that’s how I created this card – I began by die-cutting a series of frames using the Stitched Mini Scallop Square STAX Die-namics.

©Candles in the Garden. MFT December Release Countdown Day 5. Stitched Mini Scallop Square STAX Die-namics.

I basically left them all intact so that one die was sitting within another, from largest to smallest, secured them with some washitape and die-cut them from some white cardstock.

©Candles in the Garden. MFT December Release Countdown Day 5. Stitched Mini Scallop Square STAX Die-namics.

I then colour each frame with some ZIG Clean Color Real Brush Pens and then inlaid them back together again on to a sticky surface. Then, I die-cut the piece once more, but this time with the Stitched Mini Scallop Circle STAX Die-namics to give me two semi-circles.

©Candles in the Garden. MFT December Release Countdown Day 5. Stitched Mini Scallop Square STAX Die-namics.

I foam mounted each half to a card base and stamped a sentiment from Adorable Elephants in the centre, along with some flowers and a butterfly.

I coloured the butterfly with the same markers and added some detail with a white gel pen to finish!

MFT November Release – Card 5

Hello there!

Just popping by to share one final card using product from the MFT November Release:

©Candles in the Garden. MFT November Release - Card 5. Bold Diagonal Stripes Background and Stitched Star STAX.

How quickly did this come together?! Well, I literally swiped several Distress Ink cubes onto the Bold Diagonal Stripes Background, spritzed with water, and stamped onto a panel of white cardstock. That’s how quickly 😉

©Candles in the Garden. MFT November Release - Card 5. Bold Diagonal Stripes Background and Stitched Star STAX.

Misting a bit of water really helped the ink move a little, and also helped me get a decent impression – I don’t mind that its not crisp, as that wasn’t the look I was going for…

©Candles in the Garden. MFT November Release - Card 5. Bold Diagonal Stripes Background and Stitched Star STAX.

I trimmed the panel out and stamped a sentiment from Hand Lettered Holiday with black dye ink into the top right hand corner. I then adhered the panel straight down onto a white card base.

©Candles in the Garden. MFT November Release - Card 5. Bold Diagonal Stripes Background and Stitched Star STAX.

I used the two largest dies from the Stitched Star STAX Die-Namics to die-cut a star several times out of white cardstock. I adhered them all together to make a thicker embellishment and then brushed on lots of Gold Wink of Stella.

©Candles in the Garden. MFT November Release - Card 5. Bold Diagonal Stripes Background and Stitched Star STAX.

I adhered the star to the card front, and then covered it with Glossy Accents. Then waited ages for it to dry, but the result is so shiny and sparkly! To finish, I added a couple of clear sequins.

MFT November Release – Card 4

Hello again!

Here’s another card using the amazing goodies from the MFT November Release:

©Candles in the Garden. MFT November Release - Card 4.

I love creating quick backgrounds with stamp sets and that’s exactly what I did here. I took the poinsettia looking image from Winter Warmth and stamped it with Festive Berries Distress ink onto a panel of white cardstock.

©Candles in the Garden. MFT November Release - Card 4.

I then stamped the centres of each petal with a darker ink. I also stamped the holly leaves from the same set with Mowed Lawn Distress Ink.

©Candles in the Garden. MFT November Release - Card 4.

I stamped black dots to the centres of the flowers, added some gold dots and stamped a sentiment with black dye ink from Hand Lettered Holiday. I flicked some Tarnished Brass Distress stain onto the panel before die-cutting the Peek-a-Boo Wonky Windows.

©Candles in the Garden. MFT November Release - Card 4.

I adhered the main panel straight down onto a card base, and then added a layer of vellum to the card front. I then foam mounted the die-cut piece on top to finish up!

MFT November Release – Card 3

Hello there!

Just sharing one more card using the My Favorite Things November Release…

©Candles in the Garden. MFT November Release - Card 3.

I used the Diagonal Quilt Square Cover-Up to die-cut the patchwork style shapes from a panel that was previously watercoloured.

©Candles in the Garden. MFT November Release - Card 3.

Then, I foam mounted the shapes onto a square card base, whilst flush mounting the frame – I coloured this gold with a Wink of Stella pen to help it stand out.

©Candles in the Garden. MFT November Release - Card 3.

The sentiment was stamped onto a strip of black cardstock with Versamark ink, sprinkled with white embossing powder and heat set.

To finish, the sentiment strip was foam mounted to the card front!

Thanks for looking!

MFT November Release – Card 2

Hello again!

Here’s another card using the amazing goodies from the MFT November Release:

©Candles in the Garden. MFT November Release - Card 2. Top Dog Stamp Set.

This was so fun to create – I stamped a sentiment and the little dog images from Top Dog with Versamark Ink onto watercolour cardstock, sprinkled with white embossing powder and heat set.

©Candles in the Garden. MFT November Release - Card 2. Top Dog Stamp Set.

I then just painted washes of Distress Ink colour straight onto the panel, heat setting some more before adding different colours.

©Candles in the Garden. MFT November Release - Card 2. Top Dog Stamp Set.

I die-cut the panel using the largest frame die from Blueprints 25 and adhered it straight down onto a white card base.

To finish up, I added some sequins and gemstones.

MFT November Release – Card 1

Hey everyone,

Just popping by to share the first of a series of cards I made using product from the gorgeous, MFT November Release.

©Candles in the Garden. MFT November Release - Card 1. Large Grid stencil and Cat-itude stamp set.

I began by creating the background panel using one of my favourite techniques – simply smooshing some Dylusions Ink Sprays through the Large Grid stencil, and then spritzing with water!

©Candles in the Garden. MFT November Release - Card 1. Large Grid stencil and Cat-itude stamp set.

I then heat set the panel and moved onto the cute little cats from Cat-itude. I stamped them with Archival Jet Black ink onto cardstock and watercoloured with Distress Inks. I fussy-cut them out and foam mounted to the stencilled background.

©Candles in the Garden. MFT November Release - Card 1. Large Grid stencil and Cat-itude stamp set.

The sentiment is from the same set and also stamped with the Jet Black ink. I foam mounted the whole panel to a white card base and added a few sequins to finish up!

Be sure to pop by tomorrow for another card using November Release goodies!

Runway Inspired Challenge #94

Hello there and welcome to this week’s Runway Inspired Challenge! We have another awesome inspiration photo and the chance to win a prize from Ellen Hutson!

Here’s my card:

©Candles in the Garden. RIC94 - MFT Lace Background and Flutter of Butterflies Die-Namics.

This card came together really quickly – I used the model’s dress as a starting point and began by stamping the Lace Background from My Favorite Things with white pigment ink onto a panel of kraft cardstock. I then sprinkled with white embossing powder and heat set.

©Candles in the Garden. RIC94 - MFT Lace Background and Flutter of Butterflies Die-Namics.

I foam mounted the panel to a white card base and then die-cut a butterfly from the Lace Flutter of Butterflies, also by My Favorite Things, out of black cardstock. I punched a smaller butterfly from the same black cardstock and adhered both to the card front.

©Candles in the Garden. RIC94 - MFT Lace Background and Flutter of Butterflies Die-Namics.

The sentiment was cobbled together from a cork shape out of the Elle’s Studio Thankful set and a sticker that I had in my stash. Both were adhered together before being mounted to the card front.
