Hey everyone – its time for another Runway Inspired Challenge and another gorgeous inspiration photo:
And here’s my card:
This was so much fun to create! I began by dabbing some Distress Stains on to my craft mat and spritzing with water – I used Peacock Feathers, Seedless Preserves, Salty Ocean and Antique Bronze. Then I laid a piece of white cardstock into the coloured puddles and as I lifted it out, I noticed that the result was very different to when I do this technique with Distress Inks.
You can’t see it so well in the photos, but the background is a lot softer with the stains, and adding the metallic bronze gave it just enough character. I heat set the panel and then stamped the Hero Arts Blooming Meadow image twice in Versamark ink and sprinkled with white embossing powder. I heat set the powder and foam mounted the panel to a white card base measuring 6.5 inches wide and 4 inches high.
I used a couple of square framelits to create the frames out of 3 different coloured pieces of cardstock and adhered them together slightly offset from one another. This was then foam mounted to the card.
The sentiment comes from a combination of Winnie & Walter’s The Big, the Bold, and the Happy and The Big, the Bold and You, and was embossed in gold on some brown cardstock.
The words were cut into strips and adhered to the card front. I added some pink and blue gemstones to some of the flower centres to finish up the card!
Our sponsor this week is Simon Says Stamp and there’s a fabulous prize up for grabs – I hope you have a chance to play along!
