Here’s my card:

I took my inspiration mostly from the coloured areas in the model’s jacket to create a background panel – I smushing down various Distress Inks onto a craft mat, spritzed with water and laid down a piece of white cardstock into the puddles on colour.

I lifted the panel out and heat set, before repeating the process a few times to get the desired result. This was trimmed down and adhered down to a card base measuring 3.75″ x 7.5″.

The sentiment comes from Penny Black’s 30-176 Sentimental set and was stamped below the inked panel with black dye ink. I used the 51-017 Downtown die, also from Penny Black, to die-cut the building silhouette and foam mounted to the card front.

To finish, I adhered a small, red heart on the building and covered with Glossy Accents!

Wow, your background is just wonderful, beautiful for the town die cut. I love the vertical tall card size- just perfect!

This is gorgeous! I LOVE the background and love the skinniness of the panel. So striking!

Eeek! I saw this on Flikr and just had to come over to see the details. Gorgeous!!! Amazing background with the orange and blue (love that you used only two main colors, so all the depth in them really takes center stage). The red puffy heart is a perfect accent. Even the tall shape of the card fits right in with your skyscrapers. So well designed, Mayuri!!

You create the most beautiful “smushed” panels 🙂
Those rich colours with all of the movement in them are a wonderful backdrop for the city buildings!
