I chose to go for a really clean and simple take on this week’s challenge, though there are so many gorgeous ways that the model’s outfit can be interpreted! I was drawn to the colourways in the bottom half of the dress and began by tracing around an oval die onto a piece of white cardstock as a guide for stamping the floral wreath.

I stamped a sentiment from Clearly Besotted’s Love Blossoms set in the centre of the oval guideline and then stamped images from Waffler Flower’s Loved set with Distress Inks.

I trimmed the panel down to slightly smaller than my card base and then foam mounted to the front. I also stamped the two roundest flowers with yellow dye ink onto a separate piece of cardstock and used the co-ordinating dies to cut them out.

The flowers were then foam mounted to the card and I brushed with clear Wink of Stella before coating with Glossy Accents.

To finish, I added some gold and pink enamel dots!

Runway Inspired Challenge #82

Here’s my card:

I began by creating an inky panel using Distress Inks to emulate the background behind the model. I took Tumbled Glass, Chipped Sapphire and Salty Ocean Inks and smooshed them onto a craft mat, spritzed with water and laid down a piece of white cardstock into the puddles.

I lifted the panel out, heat set and repeated the process until I’d reached the desired effect. Once dry, I die-cut a rectangle out using the smaller frame from Avery Elle’s Finished Frames. I added a few ink splats onto a white card base using a mixture of Tarnish Brass Distress Stain and Delicata Golden Glitz ink.

I foam mounted the blue inky panel to the card base once the ink splats had dried and then die-cut the Memory Box Bella Bouquet floral cluster from some black cardstock. This delicate piece was adhered to the inky panel with a few small dots of Glossy Accents.

On a scrap piece of vellum, I stamped a sentiment from Waffle Flower’s Bowtiful set with Delicata Golden Glitz ink, and then pounced some Gold Perfect Pearls onto the area while the ink was still wet. I brushed away the excess powder and set with a fine misting of water. This enhanced the look of the gold ink.

I attached the vellum to the panel with a few dots of Glossy Accents. I then adhered some wood veneer stars to cover the spots where the glue was starting to show through. The wood veneer was first dipped into the Delicata Golden Glitz ink pad and then into the Gold Perfect pearls. Again, this was set with water.

Runway Inspired Challenge #69

Hello there!

This week’s Runway Inspired Challenge is extra special because its being sponsored by Waffle Flower – yay! That means the DT used Waffle Flower stamp designs on their projects, so you’re in for a treat 😉 Here’s the inspiration photo:

And here’s my card:

I gravitated towards the shades of yellow and black from the outfit. When I stamped some of the flowers from Waffle Flower’s Loved set, I tried the ‘rock ‘n’ roll’ technique to try to create some depth – can’t see it so much in the photos, but its there 😉

I began by using a paper stencil to act like a mask, through which I stamped the flowers and branches straight onto the card base. (I used the same stencil for this card). I inked up with images initially with Hero Arts Lemon Yellow and then ‘rolled’ with Butter Bar.

I stamped the tiny hearts and branches with Simon Says Stamp Black ink – the sentiment was also stamped with the same ink, once onto the card base and then again onto another piece of white card stock. I then stamped the banner image from Neat and Tangled’s Creepy Cute Shadows over the sentiment, and fussy cut out.

Before foam mounting the sentiment banner, I balled up some white thread and added to the card base with glue dots.

To finish, I stamped the tiny ‘XOXO’ and sprinkled some co-ordinating sequins.
