Neat & Tangled November Release, Day 4

Hello there!

Today is the fourth day of the November release from Neat & Tangled, and its a beauty!

NT Release Graphic.jpg

Day 4 is for the Falling Stars stamp set and here’s my card:

©Candles in the Garden. Neat and Tangled November 2018 Release. Falling Stars.

I really enjoyed this one especially as it was so quick and easy to create! I used different coloured Dylusions inks to stamp the Falling Stars image loosely across the top half of a panel of white cardstock and then spritzed with water to make the colours blend and run.

©Candles in the Garden. Neat and Tangled November 2018 Release. Falling Stars.

I heat set the panel and trimmed to the same size as my card base and adhered straight down to the front. I also flicked on some gold ink splats for interest.

©Candles in the Garden. Neat and Tangled November 2018 Release. Falling Stars.

I stamped a sentiment from the Gift Card Box Christmas Sentiments set onto a die-cut circle piece with Versamark Ink, sprinkled with white embossing powder and heat set. I foam mounted that to the card front.

I added some gold sequins to finish off!

I hope you’re enjoying the November Release so far! Be sure to visit the Neat & Tangled blog to see what the rest of the DT has created – all the sets that we are showcasing this week will be released on Friday, 9 November at 8am EST in the shop!

Neat & Tangled November Release, Day 2

Hello again!

Time to showcase some more goodies from the Neat & Tangled November Release!

NT Release Graphic.jpg

Day 2 is for the Fa La La stencil and die. Here’s my card:

©Candles in the Garden. Neat and Tangled November 2018 Release. Fa La La Stencil

The Fa La La stencil has some intricate lettering rather than large open spaces and I wanted to make sure I captured the detail on a background panel. So, I started by inking up the back of the stencil with three different shades of Dylusions Inks, spritzed with water and the laid down onto a panel of watercolour paper.

©Candles in the Garden. Neat and Tangled November 2018 Release. Fa La La Stencil

I allowed the ink to absorb into the watercolour paper for a few seconds before rubbing the stencil down onto the paper – this gave me maximum coverage.

©Candles in the Garden. Neat and Tangled November 2018 Release. Fa La La Stencil

I trimmed the panel down to the same size as my card base and adhered it straight down before moving onto the sentiment. I chose a sentiment from the Gift Card Box Christmas Sentiments set and stamped it with pink and blue inks onto a die-cut diamond piece. This piece was then foam mounted to the card front.

To then flicked on some gold paint and added a few sequins to finish off!

Neat & Tangled October Release, Day 1: Nativity Play

Hello everyone!

Welcome to the start of October release week for Neat & Tangled!

NT Release Graphic.jpg

Day 1 is for a couple of cute stamp and die sets, that will be great for creating Christmas nativity scenes – Nativity Play and Angel Wings. Here’s my card:

©Candles in the Garden. Neat and Tangled OCTOBER 2018 Release. Nativity Play

I began by stamping the various characters from Nativity Play onto a panel of white cardstock, with Versafine Onyx Black ink, and then roughly adding colour with my ZIG Clean Color Real Brush Pens.

I filled in any gaps with some of the smaller stamps from the set and added a few gold watercolour ink splats for interest. I trimmed to panel down to slightly smaller than my card base and mounted it to the card front.

Merry Christmas

Hello there!

I’m over at the Neat & Tangled blog today to share a card using a combination of stencils, stamps and dies 😉

©Candles in the Garden. Neat and Tangled December 2017

I created this vibrant background using the Radiating Star stencil and some ZIG Clean Color Real Brush Pens – I simply taped down a panel of white cardstock to my work surface and then laid the stencil down on top, again securing with a bit of washitape.

©Candles in the Garden. Neat and Tangled December 2017

I picked some vibrant ZIG Clean Color Real Brush Pens and very roughly brushed through the stencil and onto the cardstock. While the stencil was still in place, I heavily misted the the panel with water until the colours started to blend and bleed. After a few seconds, I carefully lifted the stencil away revealing this awesome background, heat set the panel and trimmed down to slightly smaller than my card base.

©Candles in the Garden. Neat and Tangled December 2017

I foam mounted the background panel to the card base and moved on to the next step. Using the Stitched Slopes dies, I created a couple of snow banks – I added a touch of Tumbled Glass Distress Ink to the hill tops so that they would stand out against the vibrant coloured background. I foam mounted one snow bank straight down onto the card front and stamped a couple of sentiments from Christmas Pageant onto the other.

©Candles in the Garden. Neat and Tangled December 2017

I foam mounted the second snow bank onto the card front and then die-cut some house and tree elements using the Warm Winter Scene Cover Plate. I adhered these between the snow banks and finished with some sequins from the Snowfall Sequin Mix.

I hope you have as much fun as I did combining stencils, stamps and dies!

Thanks for stopping by!

It’s Christmas Time

Hello there!

I’m over at the Neat & Tangled blog today to share a card using the Tree Duo Stencils 😉

©Candles in the Garden. Neat and Tangled November 2017 - Tree Duo Stencils

I began by loosely taping down one of the stencils onto a panel of white cardstock, grabbing some Zig Clean Color Real Brush pens and roughly colouring in the apertures through to the cardstock.

©Candles in the Garden. Neat and Tangled November 2017 - Tree Duo Stencils

While the stencil was still in place, I spritzed the panel with water and left it for a few seconds before lifting it away and heat setting. I cleaned up the stencil, offset it onto the panel and traced the shapes with a black marker.

©Candles in the Garden. Neat and Tangled November 2017 - Tree Duo Stencils

I stamped the tiny stars from Get Yeti with Delicata Golden Glitz ink, trimmed the panel down and foam mounted to my card base. On a separate panel, I cut out a snow bank, sponged on some Tumbled Glass Distress ink and stamped a sentiment in black in from the same set. I then foam mounted it to the card front.

To finish, I added some sequins from the Snowfall sequin mix.

Thanks for stopping by.

Winnie and Walter November Release – Day 1

Hey everyone!

Thanks for joining me at the start of November release week for Winnie & Walter! Today is the premiere of In a Word: Merry stamp set and co-ordinating Cutaways; In a Word: Holiday Tiles Cutaways and In a Word: Believe Cutaway Here’s my first card:

©Candles in the Garden. Winnie and Walter November 2017 - Day 1

I began by stamping the largest sentiment from the In a Word: Merry stamp set with a range of dye inks using my MISTI onto a panel of white cardstock, and then going over the stamped area with a smaller sentiment from the same set with black ink.

©Candles in the Garden. Winnie and Walter November 2017 - Day 1

I trimmed the panel down at an angle and set aside to work on the kraft card base. I stamped some of the small star images from In a Word: Merry stamp set with Versamark ink and brush over some gold Perfect Pearls before foam mounting the trimmed focal panel.

©Candles in the Garden. Winnie and Walter November 2017 - Day 1

To finish, I stamped a smaller sentiment onto a strip of black cardstock with Versamark and again brushed over the gold Perfect Pearls. I foam mounted to the card front and adhered some wood veneer stars.

Here’s my second card:

©Candles in the Garden. Winnie and Walter November 2017 - Day 1

I stamped the larger sentiments from In a Word: Merry stamp set with white pigment ink onto a panel of kraft cardstock and then stamped over the white ink with coloured dye inks, slightly offset.

©Candles in the Garden. Winnie and Walter November 2017 - Day 1

I also repeated the process with some of the smaller images from the set in the gaps to create a more finished panel.

©Candles in the Garden. Winnie and Walter November 2017 - Day 1

I trimmed the kraft panel down and foam mounted it to a white card base. I heat embossed the smaller sentiment in white onto strips of navy cardstock and then foam mounting them to the card front.

Filled with Love

Hello there!

I’m over at the Neat & Tangled blog today to share a card using the a couple of stamp sets from the November Release!

©Candles in the Garden. Neat and Tangled November 2016 - Scandinavian Prints Christmas.

If like me, you like to make patterns with your stamps, then this is a great card for you! I took just one stamp from the Scandinavian Prints Christmas set and repeatedly stamped it on a panel of white cardstock.

©Candles in the Garden. Neat and Tangled November 2016 - Scandinavian Prints Christmas.

I began by making a few guidelines on the panel to make it easy to follow as I stamped the circular pattern with Versafine Onyx Black ink. I trimmed the panel down to slightly smaller than my card base and die-cut a small aperture in the bottom right corner.

©Candles in the Garden. Neat and Tangled November 2016 - Scandinavian Prints Christmas.

I lined up a white card base and the die-cut panel in my MISTI and marked out where I would need to stamp the sentiment, so that it could show through the aperture. The large sentiment comes from May Your Holidays Be and was stamped with Festive Berries Distress ink straight onto the card base.

©Candles in the Garden. Neat and Tangled November 2016 - Scandinavian Prints Christmas.

I foam mounted the die-cut panel to the card base and moved on to the sentiment banner, which was from the same set. I stamped it onto a piece of pattern paper with Versamark, sprinkled with white embossing powder and heat set. I used the co-ordinating die to die-cut the banner out and then foam mounted to the card front.

To finish, I added some die-cut hearts and some Gold Mix sequins.

©Candles in the Garden. Winnie & Walter Tour of the Stars Blog Hop. November 2016 Release.

I created this really simple wreath design using the In Bloom: Frenchy’s Florals set by Angelica Suarez. I drew around an oval die on a panel of white cardstock to create a frame for my wreath, and then stamped the sentiment in the centre with Versafine Onyx Black Ink.

©Candles in the Garden. Winnie & Walter Tour of the Stars Blog Hop. November 2016 Release.

Starting at the top of the oval, I then stamped some of the floral images all the way around the frame using Distress Inks. For a bit of dimension, I used the ‘Rock ‘n’ ‘Roll’ technique to pick up two ink colours onto the stamp.

©Candles in the Garden. Winnie & Walter Tour of the Stars Blog Hop. November 2016 Release.

I stamped some of the smaller images to fill in the spaces once I’d stamped the entire wreath and then added a bit of sparkle with sequins.

To finish, I foam mounted the panel to a white card base.

Neat & Tangled November Release, Day 4: May Your Holidays Be…

Hey everyone!

Today is the fourth day of the November release from Neat & Tangled, and it ends with some fabulous stamp sets!

NT Release Graphic.jpg

I’m showcasing May Your Holidays Be, and its co-ordinating die:

©Candles in the Garden. Neat and Tangled November 2016 Release. May Your Holidays Be.

There are a couple of cool sentiments in the set along with a large bauble – the centre of the bauble is blank so you can choose which sentiment you’d like to use.

©Candles in the Garden. Neat and Tangled November 2016 Release. May Your Holidays Be.

I began by creating a background panel, using the image of a large sparkle. I stamped it repeatedly on a piece of white cardstock with Distress Inks, and the loosely added some water to get the ink moving.

©Candles in the Garden. Neat and Tangled November 2016 Release. May Your Holidays Be.

I heat set and then went around the outside of each stamped impression with a black marker and quickly sketched some lines. I then stamped the large bauble along with one of the sentiment from the set in the centre of the panel and die-cut it out.

©Candles in the Garden. Neat and Tangled November 2016 Release. May Your Holidays Be.

I adhered part of the panel straight down onto a white card base and then foam mounted the bauble in the middle. To finish, I coloured the bauble in with some Gold Wink of Stella.

I hope you’ve enjoyed the November Release from Neat and Tangled this week! Pop by the Neat & Tangled Blog to see what the rest of the DT has created – all the sets that we have showcased this week will be available in the shop tomorrow at 8am EST!

Neat & Tangled November Release, Day 3: Star Coverplate and Stencil

Hello, hello!

It’s the third day of the Neat & Tangled November release, and we are showcasing some more fabulous products!

NT Release Graphic.jpg

Day 3 is for the Star Coverplate and Stencil, both equally as gorgeous as each other. I played with the coverplate to whip up a simple birthday card:

©Candles in the Garden. Neat and Tangled November 2016 Release. Star Coverplate.

I began by creating a Distress Ink background and heat set to dry. I then ran the Star coverplate through my die-cutting machine three times with white cardstock and glued each piece together to form a thicker embellishment.

©Candles in the Garden. Neat and Tangled November 2016 Release. Star Coverplate.

I then trimmed a section out of the centre and adhered it to the Distress Ink panel. I foam mounted this to a white card base and then used the Journalling Alpha Numbers to die-cut the 45 and adhered it down.

©Candles in the Garden. Neat and Tangled November 2016 Release. Star Coverplate.

I also ran the coverplate through some Copper foil cardstock and used some of the pieces to fill in the design on the card front.

©Candles in the Garden. Neat and Tangled November 2016 Release. Star Coverplate.

To finish up, I sprinkled with a few Merlot Mix sequins. Here’s my second card, this time using the Star Stencil:

©Candles in the Garden. Neat and Tangled November 2016 Release. Star Stencil.

I taped the stencil down on top of a panel of white cardstock and simply sponged through two shades of Distress Ink, being careful not to take the ink all the way to the edges.

©Candles in the Garden. Neat and Tangled November 2016 Release. Star Stencil.

I then adhered the panel down to a white card base and looked for matching pattern paper for the tree embellishments. These were die-cut using the Scandinavian Christmas Prints dies and foam mounted to the card front.

©Candles in the Garden. Neat and Tangled November 2016 Release. Star Stencil.

The sentiment comes from the co-ordinating Scandinavian Christmas Prints set and was stamped with Versamark onto a piece of black cardstock, sprinkled with white embossing powder and heat set.

©Candles in the Garden. Neat and Tangled November 2016 Release. Star Stencil.

The sentiment was trimmed down and also foam mounted to the card front. To finish, I added some Gold Mix sequins.
