Hello there!
Today is the third day of the February release from Neat & Tangled, and its a beauty!
Day 3 is for the Interlocking Geo stencil and die, and they are absolutely fabulous, especially if you like creating geometric looking cards!
Here’s my card using the stencil:
I used one of my favourite techniques for this one – I added droplets of yellow and blue Dylusions ink sprays onto a large acrylic block, then heavily spritzed a piece of watercolour cardstock with water. Whilst the panel was wet, I laid the stencil on top, then flipped the acrylic block on top very quickly, allowing the ink to seep through to the damp watercolour panel.
I slid the block up and down while it was face down on the stencil to get the inks to move and blend. When I was happy, I removed the block and the stencil, and heat set the watercolour panel.
Once dry, I trimmed the panel down and adhered it to a white card base. I added a wood veneer cupcake and a sentiment from the So Many Sentiments set.
I also added some wood veneer stars to finish off the design 😉
Here’s my card using the die:
I’ve always enjoyed inlaid die-cutting but I wanted to try something a little different using the Interlocking Geo die for this card. So I began by adhering some double-sided tape to a panel of white cardstock and then running it through my die-cutting machine with the die.
While all the pieces were in place, I carefully removed the die-cut panel from the die and adhered it down to a white card base. This gives the impression of an embossed panel without embossing anything!
I then ran the die through again with different coloured sheets of paper so that I could make the pattern in the centre of the card pop. I did this by adding small dots of glue to the pointed areas of the tiny shapes and adhering the coloured pieces in place. I curved each piece up to create a 3D look.
I added a sentiment from So Many Sentiments and finished of the design with some matching gemstones.
I hope you’re enjoying the February Release so far! Be sure to visit the Neat & Tangled Blog to see what the rest of the DT has created – all the sets that we are showcasing this week will be released on Friday, 9 February at 8am EST in the shop!
Thanks for looking 😉
Blown away by both of these! That panel on the first card turned out AMAZING! I love the kind of shadow image and the rich colors, and LOVE they design of the second with the colored design in the center. Just gorgeous!
So many possibilities with this cover plate and stencil! Love the bold colors on your first card! And the second card with the inlaid design background is just lovely! So pretty with just some sections in color!

Both of these look so great. Love the intense colour of the stencil card. I first saw this technique in your Craftsy class. I think the colour in the centre of the die cut card adds a beautiful, colourful focus.
