It’s the third day of the Neat & Tangled September release, and we are showcasing another awesome stamp and die combo.
Day 3 is for Maple Leaves Journaling Card, which also has a co-ordinating die (that can be purchased separately) – its a great set for whipping up backgrounds, or using on its own – I went for the background option – here’s my card:
I took the largest image from the set, and heat embossed it in white onto a panel of white cardstock. I then used some watercolours to paint the stamped images.
One of the easiest watercolouring methods I use is to simply paint an area with water first, then touch a brush to some paint and add it to the damp area – the results are so fun to watch and different every time!
The depth of colour is achieved by allowing the first colour to dry and repeating the technique with a different colour, varying the amounts of water that you add. Its really all about trial and error and with a little practice, you can achieve some great results!
Once the whole panel was coloured, I trimmed it down and foam mounted it to an A2 card base. The sentiment actually comes as one long strip, so I heat embossed it in white onto a piece of black cardstock, and then trimmed it down so I could stack and foam mount it onto the card front.
Pop by the Neat & Tangled Blog to see what the rest of the DT has created – there’s also a giveaway! All the sets that we are showcasing this week will be available for purchase on Friday, 11 September at 8am EST in the shop!
Thanks for stopping by 😉
