Runway Inspired Challenge #71

Hello there and welcome to this week’s Runway Inspired Challenge! With the passing of Oscar de la Renta, we thought we’d do something different for this week’s challenge. To honour his memory, we took a look at his latest collection and each DT member has chosen their own inspiration photo. Here’s mine:

I really liked the look of all those delicate flowers on the dress and created this card:

I began by masking off an area with a postit note in the centre of a white card base, and then stamping various images from Paper Smooches Botanicals 1 set. The colours in the dress inspired the colour palette.

I removed the postit note to reveal the space to stamp a sentiment from Papertrey Ink’s Stylish Sentiments: Birthday set with black ink.

To help the masked area stand out, I drew lines around the edges with a black marker. I also stamped some butterflies from the Botanicals 1 set in black and went over them with some clear Wink of Stella.

Finally, I added some sequins and small dabs of Diamond Stickles in some of the flower centres.
