Hello, hello! It’s the third day of the Winnie & Walter October release, and you’re in for another treat!
Day 3 is for Happy Christmas, The Big, the Bold and the Merry and…wait for it…a new line of dies called Cutaways! These dies are of the signature large, scripty words and are absolutely divine! Here’s my card:
I kept this one fairly clean and simple because I was thinking about a design that could be replicated fairly quickly…I went for the longer sized card base as I felt the die-cut word was more balanced.
I began by stamping a small sentiment from The Big, the Bold and the Merry with black ink, and then masking it with a small piece of postit note. Then I stamped the snowflake images from Scenery: Big Bang Flurries randomly across the card base with Versamark Ink and brushed with a mixture of Gold and White Perfect Pearls. You can just about see the subtle effect in the photos 😉
I set the perfect pearls with a fine misting of water and then die-cut the word Christmas out of four shades of some heavyweight, pearlescent cardstock – red, silver, pearl and bronze. These were then offset and stacked on top of each other before being glued together with small dots of Glossy Accents.
The stacked words were foam mounted to the card base and I finished up by adding some matching gemstones.
There are so many fun ways to use these dies…the possibilities are endless!
