CAS-ual Fridays Challenge CFC134 – Tic Tac Toe

Hey everyone!

Today sees that start of the final CAS-ual Fridays Challenge for 2014…that’s right, the last one for this year. That doesn’t mean the end, as I’m sure the challenge will come back with a bang in 2015 😉 This week’s theme is Tic Tac Toe, which means you can choose the prompts from a row in the graphic below (down, across, diagonal) to create your project. Fun, right?

I went for the right hand column: Sequins + Embossing + Twine and here’s my card:

I began by embossing a piece of white cardstock with one of the Lattice embossing folders from Lifestyle Crafts. This was then adhered to my card base with foam pads.

I die-cut a tag shape out of a scrap panel that had been covered in Distress Inks and had a silver embossed flower image (hopefully, you know by now that I can’t throw anything away!). I threaded some twine through a hole and then foam mounted the tag at an angle on the front of the card .

The sentiment from the Wallflower set was partially stamped with Versamark onto some black cardstock and heat embossed in white (the rest of the sentiment was stamped in Versafine Onyx Black ink on the inside of the card). I also white heat embossed the deco flowers from the same set onto some vellum and coloured the reverse with copic markers.

The flowers were cut out carefully and adhered to the card with glossy accents. I curled up the edges for some interest and sprinkled with a few sequins – Tic Tac Toe!!!

Although this is the last challenge for 2014, Michele is kindly giving away a $20 CAS-ual Fridays Stamps gift certificate on each of the challenge DT’s blogs. All you have to do is leave a comment on each of our blogs for the chance to win!

Stunning card. I adore the way that the colours just escape off the tag a little on to the white background. Beautiful design. I am going to miss the challenges but I’ve made it a date in my diary for next year !

Glad to know I’m not the only one who keeps little scraps. they do come in handy a lot. The tag looks so pretty on the white embossed card. The sprinkle of flowers and sequins are a great addition. Have a good time away from your usual pursuits.
