CAS-ual Fridays CFC132 – What a catch!

Hello! Thanks for joining me for the latest CAS-ual Fridays Challenge!

This week’s theme is masculine cards…but with a bit of a catch ;-). Your projects have to include ribbon, but you can’t use any kraft (that’s the catch!). Here’s my card:

I started by creating a watercolour background – this is the quickest and easiest way to make an impactful card using a few simple supplies – water, watercolour paper and reinkers / spray mists / watercolours. I spritzed a piece of watercolour paper liberally with water and then inked up an acrylic block with some Dylusions Ink Sprays. Simply remove the nozzle from the bottle, and draw straight onto the block in various colours!

I stamped the acrylic block down onto the damp piece of watercolour paper until it started to bleed around the edge. I slowly removed the block, doing a kind of rocking motion to make the ink spread in different directions. I also made some small ink splats by loading up a brush with the excess ink left on the block.

I heat set the panel, and stamped the heart-shaped dartboard image from CAS-ual Fridays Cupid’s Arrows set in Versafine Onyx Black ink. The sentiment is also from the same set.

To finish up, I folded up a small piece of cream, satin ribbon and adhered it to the back of the panel so that it peeks through – coincidentally, the sentiment happens to be pointing to the ribbon, which is a bonus! The panel was then foam mounted to a metallic blue card base.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you’ll play along for the chance to win some awesome prizes!

I love anything watercolor so your card makes me SIGH! I did not know what KRAFT meant – I assumed its that brown cardstock. Hope I I’d ok.

    Blessings,
