Hello there 😉
Today’s card is for the Paper Smooches – July 29-August 4 – Anything Goes challenge. I almost didn’t even post this one up, but you know how it is…I walked away from it, thought about it, and looked at it again and decided to share it with you anyway. Who says you have to like everything you create?!
And here’s my offering…
I took out all the different coloured Perfect Pearls that I had in my stash and created the sparkly background that appears below the lattice. I wanted to do something a little different, so I only partially die-cut the Spellbinders Fancy Lattice pattern from my top panel.
I foam mounted everything onto a kraft card base and used a sentiment from the Paper Smooches Word Salad stamp set on a banner die-cut.
I also popped a few of the pieces back into the main die-cut panel, just for added dimension – I was going for a sort of clean and simple look by keeping most of the card white, but I’m still not sure. Let me know what you think…
I did think it needed a little something so I added a little red punched heart.
Thanks for looking!
How can you not love this card??? It’s gorgeous! Love all of the texture and dimension…and of course the shimmer from the perfect pearls.
Wow!! I think this turned out so NEAT!! I really like the clean look and the FUN Rainbow with the different layers of dimension!! THANKS SO MUCH for sharing and for playing along with the PPS Anything goes Challenge hope to see you again next week!! Have a Fabulous Weekend!! 😉
WOW! This card is so stunning!
I am blown away by this card, Flubido. Just incredible!! Darnell
This is GORGEOUS!!! Lovely colors – and beautiful layout! So glad you played along with us this week at Paper Smooches SPARKS challenge!!!
Please explain the die cutting technique of partial cutting! It’s amazing!?
Hi Annie, thanks for your question…all I did was die cut only part of the Fancy Lattice die, by altering my sandwiches. So for the half that I wanted to cut, I only used the base plate and the cutting plate. Then, for the half that I only wanted to emboss, I only used the base plate, the tan matt and the embossing plate. I then trimmed my panel to the same size as my card base.
Hope that helps, but let me know if you want to know more!
Flu
Amazing! I want this. 🙂
This card is awesome!!! How did you manage the partial die cutting?
Hi Franzi – I have a new post on my blog with some steps to demonstrate how to create this technique – https://candlesinthegarden.wordpress.com/2013/11/01/cas-ual-fridays-cfc119-embossing/
Thanks for looking!
Looks wonderful. Like the way the color are coming through the lattice.
Just love this card. It is so different and what a creative idea. Everything about it is wonderful, the colors with some shimmer, the half embossed and half cut out lattice, texture and dimension. You did great and the card is beautiful.
How did you get the background rainbow that way? It is beautiful!
