CAS-ual Fridays – CFC109 – Polka Dots

Hello everyone!

Ok… So it looks like I’m developing a bit of a thing for banner dies… I love ’em, and think they can add a lovely finish to any type of card. And what can I say? Today’s card is no exception! I’m playing along with the CASual Fridays challenge 109 – polka dots.

This one had me a bit stumped, and I went through all my usual inspiration points including Pinterest and Google, and finally settled on patterned paper.

First I die-cut banners from a range of papers and adhered them to a scrap piece of paper, to keep them altogether. Then I took another banner die to cut out the middle. This acts as a window, through which you can see the sentiment.

The sentiment comes from the Mama Elephant Smitten stamp set and nestles snuggly into the small area. I foam mounted the banner piece to my card base for added dimension. I think this design would be great for card sets or mass producing – there are so many patterned paper stacks out there, no two designs would ever look the same!

Thanks for looking!

SO in love with your design here! It’s hard to get a unique design on a CAS card, but I believe you’ve done it. Wonderful mix of patterns too! So glad you joined the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge!

Congrats again… We have to stop meeting like this – me congratulating you. haa haa
Kidding,I love it -as you see, your designs ROCK the Place out!

I am still thinking of some parts of your designs I will use in upcoming projects. That gold you used, on my list to use with a square mask to simulate Klimt kiss image, the three butterflys dancing on the edge, must do that and that same card for Hunger Games I think, I used a ornament punch and on my Xmas stamp because of that design:

    (here http://wienerhoneymooners.blogspot.com/2013/07/seasons-greetings-festive-friday.html
( I ran out and used a 50% off coupon to get the Martha Stewart butterfly punches! )

Okay, I sould like a crazed stalker, (not theat there is anything wrong with that, am I right?) anyway hope you decide to apply for CAS (E) this sketch DT, it would be cool, you will like it! I just get over excited when I see talent!!

    Have a great weekend Flubidoo!

Hi Kimberly, glad you like my cards! So pleased to hear you’re already finding ways of incorporating elements into your own work – can’t wait to see what you come up with.

And on the other thing…I did it! I’ve applied for the CAS (E) this sketch DT! I don’t think I would have done if you hadn’t encouraged me 😉

Thanks again – have a lovely weekend!
